Harvey Hatfield owned and operated two barber shops in Dallas for twenty years. The larger, with seven barbers, two manicurists and two porters was in the North Dallas Preston Center while the second five-chair shop operated in the Cotton Exchange building in downtown. Harvey was the first barber in the area to introduce razor blending and styling.

A little over 30 years ago, Harvey and his wife, Leola decided to move to the country to enjoy their retirement. Not long after arriving in the quiet little city of Bangs, he was approached by the owner of the local barber shop about purchasing the establishment.

Harvey didn't stay retired long. He's been in his two-chair shop now for 30 years, has met many people and enjoys his nice customers. Many of the first customers are still getting their hair cut and styled by Harvey along with 2nd and 3rd generations of those same customers.
